I have two light sockets in my ceiling, not recessed. Is there a way to convert these to pendant lights?

   Unless you have a working knowledge of electricity, I would suggest that you consult with a licensed electrician. What you are asking however, is possible. FIRST, turn off the electricity to both light sockets at the circuit breaker. NEVER work on a project without first turning the electricity off. You can buy an adapter that looks something like the base of an ordinary light bulb, but has two openings, one larger than the other. Screw this into the socket and plug in your pendant lights with the cord provided. You can also draw a sketch of what you now have, take it to a home improvement center, and explain what you would like to do with someone in the electrical department. He or she should be able to provide you with all the necessary items you will need to complete your project.

   im sure there is some sort of fixture that the bulbs screw into to — which is mounted to an electrical box flush with the ceiling — the new lights you buy should have all the brackets with it that will be nessesary to hang your new lights
