I need to buy an outdoor hanging pendant light for a portico. How do I determine the correct size to buy?
I have 27" room (from the point on the ceiling where I will hang the light to the top of the doorway.) Pendant light sizes range from 10" up to over 20". I dont want it to look too small or too big for the doorway. Most of the ones I like are around 15". Will that look too big?

I think it’s a preference thing. Try this, make a card board model approx the size you like and hang it from the ceiling with string. That way you can get an idea of the dimensions and whether it will look right. Cheaper than buying a fixture and then not liking it.
