New area on ceiling for pendant lights?
Am I able to place my 2 pendant lights above the kitchen peninsula anywhere on want on the ceiling? The canopy need to connect to a junction box. Would the electrician screw the canopy onto the ceiling and then wired it to the junction box? Or does he need to find a stud so I am limited to where I want it placed?

The electrician will place a junction box where ever you want the light canopy mounted. The J boxes do not need to be next to a joist.
You can have it placed anywhere you need it. They make special junction boxes for this. They attatch between two joists and have a box that slides from side to side so you can place it where you need it. Good luck.
There’s two form pendant light .
1- set by one side of CJ
2- Adjustable mouthed for set to both side of CJ(heavy light)
Any how you must secure the pendant to the CJ and is not necessarily to put J-box in top you can install that any place close to access wiring .
J-box mostly its install for purpose of 3-way or Serial lighting other way you just connect conduit wire to the light box.
